In blackjack, the “blackjack” hand is a two-card hand consisting of an Ace and any ten-point card (10, Jack, Queen, or King). Achieving a blackjack is a significant event in the game because it offers the best possible payout, usually at a ratio of 3:2 or 6:5 on the player’s original bet, depending on the casino’s rules. To achieve a blackjack at a blackjack game table, a player must be dealt an Ace and a ten-point card as their initial two cards. This hand is unbeatable unless the dealer also has a blackjack, resulting in a push (a tie), or if the player and dealer both have a blackjack, it’s often considered a “push” as well.
